Gin Tasting and a Giveaway. Hello again, it’s been a while, sorry for the radio silence but sometimes work and life just gets in the way. So, I’m back and will be for a while, you can’t get rid of me that easily.

I bought my husband some tickets to Gin High Tea for Christmas and so we decided to go along one weekend in March after Easter. Below are a selection of the photos, it was a great day out and really reasonable at the price. You can find out more about the high tea by looking at Hush’s website.

I also have 5 sets of tickets to giveaway to the upcoming May BBC Good, Summer in the City. The BBC Good Food Show is always a fun day out, there are loads of suppliers selling things that you didn’t know you needed, lots of tastings of food you didn’t know you liked and drinks you didn’t know were made. Last time we tasted 5 different types of gin! You can find out more below the pictures of High Tea.

When we arrived at Hush, we were escorted upstairs to the restaurant section which is really quite posh. Luckily there is no dress code, so jeans and trainers were what we wore.

They presented us with a menu, below 3 pictures. They explained what the tea entailed and what we would get with the tea.

The tables were set out nice and posh too –

Cocktail Choices

I chose the Tinkerbell cocktail which was very nice and Oliver chose the Pippi Longstocking, if I’m honest I had a little bit of cocktail envy. Still they were both nice.

The teapots that the tea was served in were very pretty, it almost makes me want to get a tea set.

The selection of edible goods was delicious.

The high tea selection

You can see the selection of cakes in the picture above and below, seriously, amazing good quality food. Who knew that a cucumber sandwich could taste so good? The chicken mayonnaise sandwich was the hands down winner however.

The macaroons were perfect and the creme brûlée was really interesting, we took a bite and were a bit unsure as the flavour was unlike anything I had ever tasted before, but once you continued, it got better and was actually the perfect way to end the tea.
